Updated: Feb 18th, 2025
Booking Dates: Jan 1 – Feb 14, 2025
As Ramadan 2025 approaches, travel demand across the Middle East is surging, with both regional and international travelers planning their journeys for religious observance, family reunions, and leisure. Destinations across the region are seeing a notable increase in hotel bookings, driven by pilgrimage travel to Saudi Arabia, luxury stays in the UAE, and cultural experiences in Turkey, Egypt, and Morocco. With travelers prioritizing meaningful connections and spiritual experiences, the hospitality sector is witnessing a significant boost in demand.
Top Destinations Experiencing the Highest Growth
Hotel bookings in Turkey have seen the highest year-over-year growth (+157%), followed by the UAE (+144%), reflecting strong demand for luxury stays and city experiences. Egypt (+120%) and Morocco (+113%) continue to attract travelers seeking cultural and historical richness, while Saudi Arabia (+108%) remains a key destination for religious travel, particularly for Umrah during Ramadan. This surge highlights the diverse appeal of the Middle East, from spiritual journeys to premium urban and coastal getaways.
Shifting Hotel Preferences for Ramadan 2025 in the Middle East

As travel demand surges across the Middle East for Ramadan 2025, hotel booking trends reveal a clear shift in traveler preferences. Luxury and full-service hotels are seeing the biggest gains, while economy-class hotels face a sharp decline in demand.

Luxury hotels lead the surge, with a 145% year-over-year (YoY) increase, as travelers opt for premium experiences, upscale amenities, and exclusive Ramadan offerings. Full-service hotels (+109%) are also benefiting from travelers seeking comfort, convenience, and on-site services during their stay. Meanwhile, limited-service hotels (+73%) continue to attract budget-conscious travelers who still want modern amenities.

On the other hand, economy hotels are seeing a major decline (-31%), indicating that travelers are spending more on high-end accommodations this Ramadan.
